Langtang valley – Gosainkund – Helambu is the third-most-popular trekking route in Nepal located in central Nepal, north of Kathmandu. The trip is designed by mixing three major destinations Langtang, Gosaikund, and Helambu.

According to the local tale, Langtang is derived from the word “Lhang Dhang” – which means Lhang – Yak, and Dhang – to follow. Hundreds of years ago, a Lama (Tibetan people discover the valley when he was wandering to find his missing Yak according to the legend. That’s how; Lhang Dhang became Langtang later on.
Gosaikund (4300m) is one of the Holy lakes in Nepal, where thousands of Hindu Pilgrims go to Lake for the sight. It fulfills your wishes if you visit there and make the sight of the lake according to Hinduism. Visiting Helambhu allows you to interact with Sherpa people. They say themselves Sherpa but their dialects, culture, and dresses are different from those of Sherpa people from the Everest region.
In summary, the trek covers the fertile rice basins of River Trisuli, the great stands of Rhododendron and conifer on the higher slopes, the high alpine Yak pastures, glaciers and moraines around Kyangin, and even the remote Holy Lakes at Gosainkund. One of the best things about this route is the opportunity to experience the whole range of Himalayan topography. Tibetan and some Khampa refugees mostly inhabit the Langtang Valley, the lower lands by Tamang, and the Helambu region by Sherpa related to those from the Everest Region.
