With more than 25 years of experience in Nepal’s tourism and trekking industry, Duk Kumar Basnet (DK Basnet) is one of the experienced trekking guides at Rai Treks & Expedition, bringing decades of firsthand knowledge, leadership, and passion to the trails of Nepal.

Over the course of his long career, DK has trekked extensively throughout Nepal and has experienced the country's major trekking routes and regions firsthand. From the high Himalayas to remote mountain communities, his extensive field experience gives him an exceptional understanding of Nepal's diverse landscapes, changing trail conditions, local cultures, mountain environments, and the practical realities of trekking in the Himalayas.

For DK, guiding is much more than leading travelers from one destination to another. It is about creating a safe, enjoyable, meaningful, and memorable experience from the moment a trek begins until the journey ends.

One of DK's greatest strengths is his extensive firsthand knowledge of Nepal's trekking routes.

His experience covers the country's major trekking regions, including the Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, Manaslu, Tsum Valley, and other Himalayan destinations, as well as numerous less-traveled trails and rural communities.
