For more than 25 years, I have dedicated my life to Nepal’s tourism and Himalayan adventure industry—walking its trails, building relationships with its people, learning from its mountains, and helping travelers from around the world discover the Nepal I know and love.

I am Devendra Rai, Founder of Rai Treks & Expedition.

My journey in tourism has taken me far beyond simply organizing trekking itineraries. Over the years, I have developed firsthand knowledge of Nepal’s diverse trekking regions, mountain routes, local communities, cultures, and the realities of traveling in the Himalayas.

I have learned that a great trek is not created by an itinerary alone. It is created through experience, local knowledge, careful preparation, trusted people, and a genuine understanding of what travelers are looking for.

That belief has shaped the way I lead Rai Treks & Expedition today.

From the iconic Everest Base Camp and Annapurna trails to the quieter landscapes of Langtang, Manaslu, Tsum Valley, and the culturally rich eastern Himalayas, my aim is to help travelers experience Nepal not simply as tourists, but as guests, explorers, and participants in the extraordinary life of the Himalayas.

For me, every traveler has a different reason for coming to Nepal. Some come to challenge themselves in the world's highest mountains. Others come seeking culture, spirituality, peaceful landscapes, traditional villages, or a deeper connection with local communities.

My job is to listen first, understand that purpose, and then help turn it into a meaningful Himalayan journey.

After more than two decades in tourism, I remain as passionate about Nepal as I was when I began—and I continue to believe that the most valuable thing we can offer travelers is not simply a destination, but experience they can trust and memories they will carry for a lifetime.
